1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. By using the Service you confirm that you are. The Service is not directed to children.
2. Accounts and roles
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. One person per account.
- Collectors can watch, chat, claim slots, document their own rips (“Rip & Record”), add cards they already own and keep a collection.
- Creators can sell slots in live breaks. Creator access is granted by RipRoom at its discretion and can be withdrawn.
- Your display name is public. On public records buyers appear as first name and last initial.
3. Plans, fees and taxes
- Current plans, allowances and fees are on the pricing page and form part of these Terms. Free plans have monthly allowances (for example AI scans and streaming hours) that we may adjust with notice on the pricing page.
- Early access: until paid checkout launches, slot payments run in demo mode, no money changes hands and no fees are charged. Paid plans (Collector Pro, Creator Pro) aren't on sale yet.
- When payments launch: creators pay a platform fee on each slot sale (currently 6%, or 5% on Creator Pro) plus card processing at cost; Pro plans are billed by subscription and renew until cancelled. Payments will be processed by our payment provider (Stripe) under its terms.
- Taxes: where the law requires a marketplace to collect sales tax (including Texas), we will calculate and collect it at checkout and remit it. Creators remain responsible for their own income and other taxes.
4. Live breaks and slot purchases
- In a live break, a creator opens sealed product on camera. Each slot is sold at a fixed price set by the creator before the break. Buying a slot means you buy every card from the pack(s) assigned to that slot, as opened on camera.
- Which cards a pack contains is decided by the manufacturer when it is made. Neither RipRoom nor the creator controls or knows the contents of a sealed pack.
- A claimed slot is held for you for a short time (currently 60 seconds) while you check out; if you don't complete checkout it is released.
- Before your pack is opened, the creator can cancel your slot and you'll be refunded in full. Once your pack is opened on camera the sale is final, except as described in our dispute process (for example product that wasn't as described, cards not shipped, or damage in the creator's care).
- The creator is the seller of the product. RipRoom provides the marketplace, the live room and the records, and may help resolve disputes, but is not the seller unless we say otherwise.
5. Retail, not gambling
RipRoom is a retail marketplace for real, sealed trading card product sold at fixed prices. We do not offer games of chance: no house odds, mystery products with odds set by RipRoom, prize pools, raffles, sweepstakes, buybacks or wagering of any kind. Pull rates, records and other stats on RipRoom describe what happened in past breaks; they are not odds and don't predict future packs.
6. Creator responsibilities
If you sell on RipRoom, you agree to:
- Sell only authentic, factory-sealed product that matches its listing, and show it sealed on camera before opening.
- Never reseal, search, weigh, map or otherwise manipulate packs or boxes, and never swap cards on or off camera.
- Log pulls accurately and promptly to the correct slot; mark big hits honestly; give truthful box custody information (store, purchase date, receipts you upload must be genuine).
- Hold buyers' cards with reasonable care and ship or send them to grading promptly after a request (aim for within 7 days), with tracking.
- Follow all laws that apply to you (including consumer protection, tax and licensing), and the rules of any platform you simulcast to.
- Not misrepresent odds, value or what's inside a product.
7. Custody, shipping and grading
- After a rip, the creator holds your cards for you until you ask for them to be shipped or sent to a grading company. Each handoff is recorded in the card's Pull Record.
- Carriers and grading companies are independent third parties with their own terms. RipRoom does not grade cards and doesn't guarantee grades, turnaround times or carrier performance.
- Shipping and grading handling fees, when offered, are listed on the pricing page.
8. Pull Records
- A Pull Record is a digitally signed, tamper-evident history of a physical card as logged on RipRoom: the rip, photos, the box it came from, evidence frames, clips and later handoffs. Anyone can check it.
- A Pull Record is not an NFT, token, security or investment, and has no value apart from the card it documents. It records what was logged; it is not a guarantee of authenticity, condition, grade or value.
- Records are designed to be permanent so that later owners can rely on them. Signed entries can't be edited or deleted; we may add notes, mark records as disputed or hide personal information from display (see the Privacy Policy).
- Don't attempt to forge, alter or misuse Pull Records or their codes.
9. Streams, recordings and clips
- When you stream on RipRoom, we record the broadcast, cut clips of each logged pull and may capture still frames (“evidence snaps”) you trigger. Recordings are kept for the period your plan states; clips of pulls are kept with their Pull Records.
- You keep ownership of your streams. You grant RipRoom a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, record, store, reproduce, clip, display, transmit (including to simulcast destinations you choose) and promote your streams, clips, frames and creator profile, for running and promoting the Service. This licence continues for clips and frames attached to Pull Records after you leave, because buyers rely on them.
- You're responsible for what you broadcast. Get any consent the law requires from people who appear or are heard, and don't broadcast music or other material you don't have rights to.
- Room chat is public to everyone in the room. Chat shown from other platforms (for example Twitch) is subject to that platform's terms.
10. Photos, receipts and other uploads
- You keep ownership of photos and files you upload and grant RipRoom the same licence as in section 9 to use them in the Service. Card photos and box photos are public.
- Receipts and invoices are private: only you and RipRoom staff can open them; public records show only that a receipt is on file and its fingerprint. Cover any card numbers you don't want stored, and never upload a street address or someone else's personal information.
- We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.
11. AI scanning, prices and stats
- AI card identification can be wrong. You must check and confirm every result before logging it; the record notes whether a card was scanned or typed.
- Price guides, estimates, pop reports, chase lists, records and pull rates are for information only. They aren't appraisals, offers, financial advice or odds, and you shouldn't rely on them for buying, selling or investing decisions.
12. Prohibited conduct
Don't: break the law; sell counterfeit, resealed or misrepresented product; run any game of chance, raffle or wager through the Service; harass, threaten or dox anyone; post hateful, sexual or violent content; impersonate others; abuse claims, holds or chat (including bots and scripted claiming); create multiple accounts to get around limits or bans; interfere with or probe the Service's security; scrape it at scale; or reverse engineer it except as the law allows.
13. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Cloudflare (hosting, video, email, security), our payment processor, AI providers, streaming and chat platforms you connect, carriers and grading companies. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
14. Copyright notices
If you believe content on RipRoom infringes your copyright, send a notice through Contact & requests (choose “Copyright notice”) including: the work, where it appears on RipRoom, your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use isn't authorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're authorised to act. We'll respond and may remove the content and, for repeat infringers, close accounts.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account through Contact & requests. We may suspend or end accounts, remove content or withhold creator access if we reasonably believe these Terms or the law were broken, or to protect buyers, creators or the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 8, 9, 10, 16 and 17) survive termination.
16. Disclaimers and limits of liability
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, RipRoom won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid RipRoom in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
- You agree to indemnify RipRoom against claims arising from your content, your sales (if you're a creator) or your breach of these Terms.
- Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be limited by contract.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us through Contact & requests so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any claim that isn't resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and RipRoom consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
18. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. We'll change the version date above and, for material changes, notify you in the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms. Questions: Contact & requests.
