Guide

How to use RipRoom

RipRoom is where packs get opened on camera and every card keeps its story. This guide walks through it step by step, for collectors and for creators.

For collectors

1

Enter your email and the 6-digit code we send. No password. Pick a display name; on public records you show as first name and last initial.

2

Find a creator

Browse creators by Pokémon, sports or other TCG, see who's live, and follow the ones you like. We email you when they go live (at most once every 6 hours per creator).

Where: Browse · Live rooms

3

Claim a slot

Tap an open slot or type !claim 7 in chat. The first claim in a room asks for a quick human check. Your slot is held for 60 seconds while you check out.

Where: the room's slot board

4

Watch your pack opened

The creator shows the sealed box (and where it was bought), marks your pack as it's opened, and pulls your cards on camera. Hits get the banner.

5

Own your cards

Every card lands in My Collection with a signed Pull Record: the box, the moment it was opened, the photo and a clip of the pull. Ask for it to be shipped or sent straight to PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or TAG; each handoff is added to the record.

Where: My Collection

6

Show it off (optional)

Make your collection public for a page at riproom.stream/u/you with set progress, serials like “Pull #1 of 3” and your card-back stats. Values stay hidden unless you choose to show them.

Where: My Collection → Public collection page

For creators

1

Get creator access

Anyone can start with Rip & Record (open your own product, nothing sold). Selling slots is invite-only during early access: request it from the Creators page.

Where: Creators

2

Create your creator page

Pick a handle, add your picture, banner, bio and channel links. Followers get go-live emails, and you're listed in Browse.

Where: Creator tools → Your creator page

3

Set up your stream once

Show server & key and paste them into OBS (Settings → Stream → Service: Custom). Add your cameras and the RipRoom overlay (a Browser source). Add YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook or X to simulcast, and turn on Twitch chat to read it in your room.

Where: Creator tools → Your stream

4

Log your sealed boxes

When you buy product, add each sealed box: product, serial, store, city, date, the receipt or invoice (private) and a photo of it sealed.

Where: Creator tools → Box inventory

5

Create the break

Pick the product from the catalog (it links your pulls to card pages, chase lists and pull rates), set slots and price, and Stream this break.

Where: Creator tools → New break

6

Go live and run the room

Go live, start streaming in OBS, then 📦 Start this box with the sealed box on camera. Viewers claim slots; pause claims or void a slot from the board if you need to.

7

Rip each pack

Pick the paid slot, snap the sealed pack (📦 in Quick capture, or Alt+3), tap 📦 Opening this pack with the sealed pack in frame, open it, then scan or type each card worth logging and Log pull. Mark chase cards as Big hit.

Where: Creator tools → Log a pull, or Phone capture

8

Finish the box and fulfill

Box finished when the last pack is done. Clips attach automatically. Ship or send cards to graders from the Fulfillment queue; tracking stays private in the record.

9

Grow

Share your referral link with a tag per video (?c=yt-short-12) to see which posts bring people in. Your card back, milestones and records build themselves from your breaks.

Where: Creator tools → Your referral link

Creator tools has a “Get ripping” checklist that ticks these off as you go, and a “How this works” note on each panel.

The perfect Pull Record

Each step is optional, and each one makes the record stronger. A card with all of them can be traced from the store shelf to the slab:

  1. Sealed box logged with store, date, receipt fingerprint and a sealed photo (Box inventory).
  2. Box started on camera, so viewers see the sealed box and where it came from.
  3. Evidence frames captured: one tap (or Alt+1…5, or a Stream Deck button) marks the sealed box, its label, each sealed pack and each hit's front and back. RipRoom pulls the frame from the recording and signs it into the record.
  4. Pack opening marked with the sealed pack in frame. Its time and stream position go into the record, and the clip starts there.
  5. Card identified: AI scan with the creator confirming, or typed. The record notes which.
  6. Photo fingerprinted: the photo's SHA-256 is signed into the record, so it can't be swapped.
  7. Clip attached from the stream recording, signed into the record.
  8. Every handoff after: shipping, grading (with cert number), delivery.

Collectors can check any card at Verify a card. Their browser rechecks every fingerprint and signature itself.

Scanning tips

  • One card at a time, flat, filling most of the frame, in good light without glare (tilt sleeves and top loaders slightly).
  • Make sure the name, set symbol and number (like 201/180) are readable; that's what the AI reads.
  • Always check the result before logging, especially parallels and refractors. You confirm, the AI helps.
  • Scan with phone (account menu) has two modes: Add cards I own to flip through a binder and save each card to My Collection, and Log pulls in a break to use your phone as the card cam next to OBS. Pick the product from the catalog so cards match automatically.

Stats & history

  • Pop report and serials: each card page counts every copy pulled on RipRoom, and each copy gets “Pull #2 of 3”. #1 also gets 🥇.
  • Chase lists: each set's big cards, pulled or not yet, with the first puller's name kept permanently.
  • The Vault: the biggest live hits ever. Record book: records and milestones.
  • Pull rates: per product, what came out of finished boxes opened on camera. History, not odds: every box is independent.
  • Card backs: career stat lines on creator and collector pages.
  • Only rips on RipRoom count. Cards scanned in from existing collections never count toward pop, records or rates.

Privacy

  • Records never show emails or addresses. Buyers appear as first name and last initial; tracking numbers as the last 4 digits plus a fingerprint.
  • Collections are private unless you make yours public. Collectors are named in records only if their collection is public.
  • Receipts stay private; records carry only their fingerprint. Store locations are city and state.
  • We use Google Analytics to see which pages and features get used (page views and actions like claiming or following). We never send it your email, name or card details.
